We are pleased to announce that from April 2026, cartons used for food, drink and other liquids, including aseptic and chilled cartons, can use the Recycle label for collection at kerbside.
Working in partnership with ACE UK, we have seen evidence that local authority kerbside collections from households are on course to exceed the 75% threshold required for packaging to be labelled ‘Recycle’.
This aligns with the Simpler Recycling legislation, which targets liquid cartons for kerbside collection by April 2026.
Please note that this label should only be used for packaging on shelf from 1st April 2026.
Large cartons should carry a ‘cap on’ call to action where relevant, and small cartons with straws can use the ‘insert straw’ call to action.
